White PE Foam Tape 3mm — Application and Handling

Surfaces must be free of dust, grease, oil and water. Use isopropyl alcohol as cleaner on both surfaces. Bond strength depends on surface area in direct contact with the tape. Apply firm pressure for a proper bond.

How to apply BiTape 4203B white PE foam tape

  1. Clean both substrates. Surfaces must be free of dust, grease, oil and water. Wipe both bonding faces with isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth. Allow to dry completely.
  2. Cut the tape to length. Measure the bonding line. Cut the white PE foam tape with scissors or utility knife. For corners on signage or trim, use 45° miter cuts to maintain continuity.
  3. Apply to the first substrate. Peel the light-blue PE film liner from one side. Position the tape and press firmly along the entire run, ensuring uniform contact with the substrate.
  4. Bond the second substrate. Peel the remaining liner. Align the second substrate and press firmly. Bond strength depends on surface area in direct contact — cover the entire overlap.
  5. Allow shear curing time. Initial loop tack ≥3.0 kg/25 mm (FINAT 9) is achieved immediately. Shear strength of ≥10 h under 1.0 kg load develops after 24 hours at room temperature. For low surface energy substrates (PE, PP, silicone, PTFE), apply primer or plasma pretreatment.

We offer slit rolls and die-cut shapes of white PE foam tape 3mm according to your project geometry.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. BiTape 4203B is a 3.0 mm (1/8 in) white PE foam tape — a white double sided foam tape with solvent-based acrylic adhesive on 2.5 PCF closed-cell white polyethylene foam. This white PE foam tape delivers loop tack ≥3.0 kg/25 mm (FINAT 9), peel adhesion ≥1.5 kg/25 mm (PSTC-3), shear resistance ≥10 h under 1.0 kg at room temperature, tensile strength >10 kg at 80 °C. Service -22 to 176 °F. AAMA certified for window glazing.
White PE foam tape 4203B requires both substrates free of dust, grease, oil and water. Isopropyl alcohol is the recommended cleaner for both bonding faces. Apply firm pressure across the entire overlap. Low surface energy substrates (PE, PP, silicone, PTFE) require primer or plasma pretreatment to achieve full performance. Continuous immersion is not recommended.
Yes. White PE foam tape 4203B is AAMA certified for window glazing applications and seals effectively against water, dust and light. Its 3 mm thickness compensates surface irregularities on aluminum and PVC frames, and absorbs vibration and impact. Typical applications: gap sealing, window glazing, emblem and nameplate fixing, plastic trim mounting on white-finish architectural assemblies.
BiTape 4203B white PE foam tape is specified for construction (gap sealing, AAMA window glazing, plastic trim mounting), automotive (signage, emblems, white-finish trim panels) and graphic arts (signage assemblies, POP displays, decorative panel mounting). Its 2.5 PCF closed-cell polyethylene foam in 3 mm thickness is optimized for white-finish industrial mounting where visual blending is required.
4203B is 3.0 mm white 2.5 PCF PE foam — for white-finish signage, POP displays and AAMA window glazing where visual blending matters. 485N is black PE foam tape for automotive and dark-finish assemblies. 4500B is the thick PE foam tape (21 mm) for very large gaps and irregular industrial closures. Specify by required color, thickness and gap dimension.
BiTape 4203B white PE foam tape is available in standard widths 1/4", 1/2", 3/4", 1" and 2". Custom widths on request. AAMA certified for window glazing. Shelf life 2 years from date of manufacture, stored at 65-85 °F and 50-70 % relative humidity.
AAMA (American Architectural Manufacturers Association) certification means BiTape 4203B has been validated to meet performance requirements for window glazing applications: dimensional stability, weatherability, adhesion to glass and aluminum frames, and resistance to UV exposure and thermal cycling. This is the recognized industry standard for foam tapes used in fenestration and architectural glazing.
BiTape 4203B is a double-sided foam tape — designed to bond two substrates together (mounting, fixing, structural sealing). Choose 4203B when you need to fix a sign, emblem, panel or trim onto another surface, especially where the surface is uneven or porous. If your goal is only to seal a closure gap (door, window, lid) without bonding, specify a single-sided foam gasket tape: BiTape 203N (3 mm thin profile) or BiTape 206N (6 mm thick profile).
