Thin Double Sided Adhesive Tape 0.105mm — Application and Handling
Surfaces must be free of dust, grease, oil and water. Use isopropyl alcohol as cleaner on both surfaces. Sand any oxidized surfaces. Bond strength depends on surface area in direct contact with the tape. Apply firm pressure for a proper bond.
How to apply BiTape 0962B thin double sided adhesive tape
- Clean both substrates. Surfaces must be free of dust, grease, oil and water. Wipe both bonding faces with isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth. Sand any oxidized surfaces. Allow to dry completely.
- Cut the tape to length. Measure the splice or bonding line. Cut the thin tissue tape with scissors, utility knife or die-cutter. The thin tissue carrier (4 mil / 0.105 mm) is easy to slit and die-cut to custom shapes for splicing applications.
- Apply to the first substrate. Peel the mustard glassine paper liner from one side. Position the tape and press firmly along the entire run, ensuring uniform contact with the substrate.
- Bond the second substrate. Peel the remaining liner. Align the second substrate and press firmly. Bond strength depends on surface area in direct contact — cover the entire overlap with even pressure.
- Allow shear curing time. Initial loop tack ≥88 oz/in FINAT 9 is achieved immediately. Shear ≥24 h under 35.2 oz load PSTC-107 develops after 24 hours at room temperature. For applications involving sustained heat or stress, run a prior test as recommended by the limitations.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. BiTape 0962B is a 4 mil thin double sided adhesive tape with solvent acrylic on a tissue carrier. This splicing tape delivers loop tack ≥88 oz/in FINAT 9, peel adhesion ≥63.4 oz/in PSTC-101, shear resistance ≥24 h under 35.2 oz at room temperature (PSTC-107). Heat resistance ≥24 h under 17.6 oz at 176 °F. Short-term service -22 to 284 °F. Engineered for splicing industrial plastic films, papers and foils.
Thin double sided adhesive tape 0962B requires both substrates free of dust, grease, oil and water. Isopropyl alcohol is the recommended cleaner for both bonding faces. Sand any oxidized surfaces before application. Apply firm pressure across the entire bond area to develop the adhesion level. Run a prior test when the process includes sustained heat, continuous stress or specific film and foil combinations.
BiTape 0962B is engineered with a heat-resistant solvent acrylic adhesive system on tissue carrier, delivering short-term service up to 284 °F and shear resistance ≥24 h under 17.6 oz at 176 °F. This is significantly higher than 0960B (service -4 to 158 °F). The trade-off: 0962B is best for industrial splicing, lamination and processes involving heat — for general low-profile bonding on paper, fabric and nameplates the 0960B is the standard tissue tape.
BiTape 0962B thin double sided adhesive tape is specified for printing and graphic arts (splicing of paper, films and foils on continuous production lines), packaging (lamination of plastic films, foil sealing, splice repair), electronics (component assembly, low-profile bonding on circuit board substrates) and general industrial laminating where heat resistance up to 284 °F short-term and chemical resistance against solvents are required.
0962B is the high-performance variant of the BiTape tissue family — 4 mil (0.105 mm) thickness, double the loop tack (≥88 oz/in vs ≥1.25 of 0960B), short-term service up to 284 °F and dedicated splicing applications. 0960B is the general-purpose tissue tape (3.5 mil) for paper, fabric and nameplate bonding at lower service temperatures. 0965T is the specialty tissue tape for hard-to-bond plastics (polycarbonate and engineering substrates). Specify by application: splicing/heat use 0962B; paper/fabric/metal general use 0960B; engineering plastics use 0965T.
BiTape 0962B thin double sided adhesive tape is available in standard widths 1/4", 1/2", 3/4", 1" and 2". Custom widths and die-cut shapes on request — particularly useful for splicing and lamination jobs that need precise geometry. Shelf life 1 year from date of delivery, stored at 65-85 °F and 50-70 % relative humidity.
Yes. BiTape 0962B is engineered for splicing industrial plastic films, papers and aluminum foils. The high initial tack ≥88 oz/inFINAT 9 and shear ≥24 h under 35.2 oz sustain the splice through web tension and processing speeds typical of converting and printing operations. For specific film and foil combinations, especially under sustained stress or heat, run a prior test as recommended by the TDS limitations.
Choose BiTape 0962B thin double sided adhesive tape when you need a thin, low-profile bond line (4 mil) for splicing, lamination or assemblies that require heat resistance up to 284 °F and chemical resistance. Tissue tape is unsuitable for uneven surfaces, gap-filling or vibration absorption — for those specify a PE foam tape: BiTape 4203B (white 3 mm AAMA), 4500B (white 1 mm carrier-broken) or 485N (black 1.6 mm) for substrate-color matching and surface irregularity compensation.
